Brody
asked to wear his Superman unders yesterday. He happened to also ask
to wear his Superman shirt. So after a potty break, I asked him to show
me his Superhero moves.

He was happy to do so.
I
took these pics in my Super unclean office upstairs. There is
excellent light in here with two large windows. If I had known I would
be taking photos in here, I would have picked up the clutter...but it
was a really spur of the moment thing, so, don't mind the mess. This
Superhero didn't seem to mind.

I
needed a fairly fast shutter speed because all three year old boys move
at Superhero speed. (don't they?). But I shoot at the widest aperture
99% of the time, so I had to bump my ISO up quite a bit. I never would
have been able to get these clean images with my old camera. I was
always afraid to go higher than ISO 400. This is probably the biggest
reason I upgraded camera bodies...low noise at higher ISO's. I'm Super
pleased with how these turned out. I did ZERO edited to them, other
than sharpening. I usually at least have to adjust the exposure in
post, but I didn't here, and I don't think I've ever had such great
white balance and color clarity before. I didn't even have to use the
noise reduction slider in Light Room. Which is just Super, to probably
only me. Haha. :)

My
cropping and chopping of limbs is Super bad in these. I was working in
a small room and only had my 50mm lens on the whole time. It's pretty
much the only lens I shoot with anymore with my new camera, but this
makes me want the 35mm 1.4 a lot...I just needed a tad less crop and I
would have been good I think.
Being a Superhero is exhausting work...

But not too exhausting for my 3 year old...

Overall I'm happy with
these. They aren't perfect. They weren't on my "list" of practice
shots to take, but they are sweet photos of my little guy making
memories. Which was one of my main goals for this blog. :)
Seriously...is he not the cutest little Superhero you've ever seen?

So, as you can see...Superheroes really do live here...
