My first Mother's Day

I had a simply WONDERFUL Mother's Day weekend.  I love being a mom.  Especially to this guy...

And I adore sharing the parenting role with this guy...

My Mother's Day weekend started out with a relaxing Friday night at home.  Saturday morning I took Brody to the Farmer's Market downtown with my good friend Katie.  It was simply gorgeous out and the market was packed.  Picked up some scrumptious tomatoes for us and a bag of kettle corn for my momma.  Then we went and had lunch outside at Panera...yum!  And then headed back to our house to chat with Katie on the back porch while the babe took a nap inside.  Later that evening Jeff and Brody and I headed over to Jeff's parents house for dinner.  Got to see a couple of his aunts, his sister and her little cutie pie Gage, and play with everyone for a bit...

Then Jeff dropped B off over at Grandma and Grandpa V's house for a sleep over.  Thanks to them for watching Brody so Jeff and I could go have some much needed drinks with our friends!

Sunday morning we got up early and headed back over to my parents house to pick up the little rascal and enjoy a Mother's Day breakfast with them.  Dad made waffles and sausage...YUM and YUM.  It was another B-E-A-UTIFUL day!  Just look at the clear blue sky and blooming spring trees...

We chilled on their front porch for a while and enjoyed the sunshine on our faces...

By then, it was time for Brody's afternoon nap, so we headed back home.  I'm not gonna lie...we needed a nap too!  So we all napped for a while.  Brody was having a hard time falling asleep for some reason.  This is so not typical for the B-Man, and since I was exhausted myself, I scooped him up out of his crib and brought him in bed with me.  We napped together for 2 hours!!  I haven't slept with him like that since I was on maternity leave.  It was great!  I don't normally do that, of course, but figured since it was Mother's Day and all...why not?!  Then we all got ready and headed out to Vanderveer Park to take some family pictures.  This was the one thing I really wanted to do for Mother's Day.  Thanks again to my amazingly wonderful mom who met us out there to snap some pictures.  She did a great job!  Check these out...

Then we headed to the grocery store to pick up something to make for dinner.  Came home and grilled out!  We had pork chop sandwiches (the food, not the baby!), tomato and cucumber salad, and cesar salad.  Delish!  What a great ending to a fantastic weekend.  Life is good.
